There can be hundreds or even thousands of scales that adorn one of my reptile sketches. Coloring all those scales can seem like a daunting task but it doesn’t have to be at all. The nice thing about grayscale coloring is that you can approach coloring scales from two completely different directions. You can color a large amount of scales by covering them with one color which will make your coloring process much faster. Or you can take one or a few scales at a time and enjoy a slower coloring process. In this lesson we are going to take the one at a time approach and show you how easy it can be and how your end results can be quite stunning.
